The Bottleneck in ED dept is that the Senior Doctors in that Dept should be able to organise that Patients be sent for E rays, Cat Scan or MRI rather than waiting for the Surgical staff to make the decision. It would speed up the movement of patients.
Fly the Consultants to the Patients rather than tying up Emergency staff and Ambulances travelling to major cities.
The Hospitals should use be using Teleconferencing to save time and making quicker Diagnoses.
I had experience of the HSE and Private Hospital. I was in the ED dept in Mullingar last year from 11 am till 8 pm and had to walk out as they were putting me on a trolley that I refused. I went to the Hermitage two days later at 11 am on a Saturday and the Doctor ED Dept organised a Cat Scan at 2 pm and in a bed at 5 pm.
It is indecision that is causing delays in ED depts.
